Itz storytime….. :)

 Let me tell you a story…. the story of a little girl who was lost in a dream of her own. Like every other kid, she too created a fantasy world where she could live her life the way she wanted, with the people she cared for most… and she could have gotten away with it too. But alas! life had other plans for her in mind…

Her godmother as she was, life wanted to be a good mentor to her. So what did godmother life do?  Did she fulfil her every wish?  No, she did not. Did she show her how to reach out to the stars that so fascinated her? No, she did not. She chose the path that only a true mentor would show…

The path was adorned with lovely white rosebushes on either side. The girl followed, mesmerised by the beauty of it… the sincerity and the purity that it radiated. She was so engrossed in admiring and caressing the white roses that she totally ignored the tender green grass that supported her throughout,  protecting her little bare feet from the stones that turned up every now and then on the path.

As she walked on, she realized that something seemed to be different. Somehow, the scenery around her had changed. And then she noticed it…the roses were not white anymore. It had turned into a pinkish shade.. coloured by the small red droplets that came out from the scratches made by those invisible thorns on the rosebushes on her delicate palms. For a moment or so, she stopped.  Should she go forward…she thought. But the child as she is, inspite of the pain she felt, the pink roses still attracted her too much to give up now. And so, she walked on…However, she wished she weren’t alone anymore. She dreamed of  a companion….somebody to talk to…someone who would understand her in a way nobody had… someone who would be more than happy to give her all the time in the world. And then life said, “as you wish….”

Maa Nishadhaa!

What has the world come to?. Come on folks. Every channel I switch to, the news flash running at the bottom of the screen has at least one incident to report where a teacher hitting a child till death or sometimes leaving some life. The way kids are being tortured are many. Some deliver hard blows through canes. Some give electric shocks. Even more horrific acts are there. But the ultimate intent is to inflict maximum pain.

Why do human beings want to hurt each other and take ones life?. The world is so huge, that all can still live in harmony. Parents of these kids toil hard all day to give the best for their kids. They trust the teachers to provide for a good future for their loved ones. But imagine a scene where a mother,father or both have to see the dead body of their loving child whom they so passionately sent to school. Recently, a 15 year old girl was thrashed to such an extent that she slipped to coma. She was hospitalized due to blood clotting in her brain. Then there is the case where a teacher applied electric shock to 22 kids using equipments in a physics lab. This is mostly similar to corporal punishments. Even hard core criminals are treated in a better in this society . Why do the future citizens of India have to be groomed in this manner?.

The Supreme Court banned corporal punishment in 2000 but reports of brutal and humiliating ‘disciplining’ of children in the country are frequent.The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), too, protects children from all forms of physical violence (Article 19) and from inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment (Article 37). India is a signatory to the UNCRC. But as usual there is a common say that rules are meant to be broken.

We command to be a land of learned. All are working in MNC’s. These are our kids. Stripping them in public, slapping them until they become deaf,paralyzed. The progress of any nation lies in the hands of the upcoming youth. If we are so hell bound to nip them in the bud. We might end up with a deaf, paralyzed,mentally afflicted next generation in a while. There should be mass awareness and reaction against this social evil. Discipline doesn’t comes with pain. It comes with understanding and love. God is love. Kids need affection and care. Nothing more,nothing less.

The world is so beautiful. I mean lets forget the pollution for a second. But there are still beauties. I am grateful to God, that he has provided me with the eyes to see all those that I love. This Saturday when my dearest friend called me up and asked to accompany her to NAB – The National Association For The Blind. I was pondering on what to reply. My mind wandered leaps and bounds. She had told me that it was something to do with On Demand Community that our company IBM was organizing. Where each employee had to do some volunteering work. I tried to see within me whether there was any social welfare person hiding there. I do respond and react to the social inequalities in a way that gives me self satisfaction. But never in my life have I taken a step to actually be a part of understanding some social issue. Anyways, my friend has always been a weakness of mine. So I agreed to accompany her.

I came to know a lot of things there. The 20 loses a blind person has to suffer :-

1. Basic Losses to psychological Security.

* 1. Loss of Physical integrity
* 2. Loss of confidence in the remaining senses.
* 3. Loss of reality contact with environment
* 4. Loss of visual background
* 5. Loss of light security.

* 8. Loss of ease of written communication.
* 9. Loss of ease of spoken communication.
* 10. Loss of informational progress.

V. Losses concerning occupation and financial status.

* 13. Loss of recreation.
* 14. Loss of career, vocational goal, job opportunity.

The experience of being blindfolded and somebody to guide you was simply an enlightening. Being blind for 20 minutes made me so uncomfortable and angry. Imagine what those who are really blind might be going through. No handicap needs compassion, they need companionship. They need to know that even the sighted world is meant for them. I can write a lot but unable to. Maybe because its my first post. Maybe because I can’t describe the experience in its true essence. I may update this later.

Statutory Warning : ‘NO SMOKING’ IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH.

Did I just watch a movie? Am I stupid? Where the hell on earth am I? where some of the questions that were reverberating in my mind when I was out of the movie ‘No smoking’. 

I remember my friend telling me “This is an insult to the educated society” after we watched the movie ‘Salam-E-Ishq’. I was wondering what the hell do I call this crap?? It was one of the worst movie that I have ever seen in my life!! All salutations to Mr. Director- Anurag Kashyap. 

The movie lasts two good hours and makes so little sense and yeah…”wtf” reeling at everyone’s tongue!! It stars, K (John Abraham) (‘K’.. yeah!! that’s his name, people!!) is a chain smoker with an attitude problem. His wife Anjali (Ayesha Takia) threatens to leave him if he does not change his habits. His mysterious friend Abbas Tyrewala (Ranvir Sheorey) recommends him to a rehabilitation centre. When K arrives, he finds out that the place is no ordinary centre which uses standard methods of making you quit smoking. It’s run by Baba Bengali (Paresh Rawal with a chorus “Sri sri sri  BABA Bangali..” ROTFL!!  I was tempted to add a few more words in between, HUH!!) who forcefully makes K sign on an agreement where the former will abide by Baba’s conditions in order to quit smoking or else will have to face dire consequences. 

No Smoking leaves you completely dumbfounded and desperately looking for logic in its surrealistic sequences of John in a jail, John in a tunnel, John in a bathtub, John in Siberia-like surroundings and I was like “eh ow wow.. what the hell is happening man??” I was wondering if I was the only stupid guy? turned in all directions, no I was not, and found the blank, moonstruck look on all faces!! I would say, people would be tempted to have a fag after watching such a bakwaas movie. 

My serious advice- don’t go and spoil your money over a bunch of nonsensical lunatics. Even if u do understand something, it’s just that John Abraham and Ayesha Takia are characters. You won’t even know what the heck are they acting about and what the story is. Anybody who understands the movie, please… enlighten me!

Rage Against Apple : The more u pull, the stronger u would be hit!!

A lot of mess happening about iphones for quite a period now. Apple showed mercy on the earthlings by releasing its godsend phone. Guess what?? This bejeweled piece of work was released in US with a contract with AT&T service provider. Why the hell will anyone do that when they can still earn hell a lot of money with the AnySim concept!!

 

The phone with its large multi-touch display and OS X is indeed a piece meant to be owned. When it was released Steve Jobs claimed it to be three devices in one–

* a phone.

* an ipod.

* an internet communication device.

 

It has cool finger touch options like

• Youtube,
• Safari(an advanced browser),
• An advanced mail client that can fetch your mails from most pop3 or IMAP mail services,
• Google Maps (that’s awesome!!),
• An Accelerometer( a feature that u might have seen in many digicam display, that automatically changes your display content to landscape or portrait according to the position you hold it),
• Proximity sensor (this feature turns off the display as soon as you lift your phone up to your ear).
• It also has a lot of Widgets like whether report stock report etc (similar to the ones you have in Google desktops).
• Any ofcourse, serves the purpose of a video ipod…

Well, well!! It misses some of the basic functionalities though.. Like voice or video recording, MMS et cetera …

Here is the Biggie.. Apple not only disallows any service other than AT &T (which is believed to be some dinosaur turt), it holds your phone a hostage too. It won’t allow anyone else to develop softwares for it. You can only download those features that apple releases with its firmware, probably u should only. What the hell!!

 

 

And adding more to it, it doesn’t support the basic java features that can be run even on a simplest motorola gig .. aah awesome!! and here it goes..

Folks around the world have created so many firmwares (v 1.01,1.0.2.. and I don’t know how many more) that not only unlock your phones i.e. can put any SIM, but also avail you with the benefits of all third party softwares.. wow..

 

 

NOW WHAT??.. APPLE is ANGRY!! (I don’t understand what sort of obligations do they share with AT &T) and I am terribly unhappy about what they did. They BRICKED all unlocked phones. To be more specific, it would serve u with the purpose of being a paper-weight!! ##$$@#^$&^!!!!!!!!!!

And yeah.. Obviously declaring the warranty void!!

 

Apple released a firmware v 1.1.1 with some new features and bug fixes which when installed on your iphone will expedite the metamorphosis of you phone into a paper-weight. Holy shit!! Why would they do this merciless heinous crap when they had other options too.. like just relocking the phone and uninstalling all third party softwares. But that was not all they did!!

I smell another Microsoft here!!

 

 

iphone buyers all over the world who have engaged themselves in bricking their phones are desperately waiting with their fingers crossed for a ray of hope. Hackers are working their ass off to develop a code that would bring back the phone to its factory settings.

 

So people, one honest advice…

 

 

 

Multiple login in GTALK!!

Hiya folks,

I notice that even if you dont find your friends in your intranet chat client, you will rather find them on GTALK!! coz people feel that gtalk is faster and efficient. ROTFL 😀 And with the integration of orkut, wow! its something off the hook and essential.

If you are one of the million gtalk users, so you will be one of them who feel terrible to sign out so as to allow your friends or family members to login. EEK!!

GTalk doesn’t support multiple login on the same machine, though many of the other IM clients do!! Not anymore, finally a sigh of relief to all of us.

Try this out.

AIM : To run multiple instances of  gtalk with different users signed in at the same time.

PRE-REQUISITES: You should have an electronic gig that stores, retrieves, and processes data, and can be programmed with instructions. It is composed of hardware and software, and can exist in a variety of sizes and configurations!! hehe :D, an internet connection and gtalk installed on it.

PROCEDURE:

(You will have 1 default instance after gtalk is installed)

• Right click on your desktop and select “new shorcut”.
• In the text box for the path, browse for the gtalk.exe (default will be C:\Program Files\Google Talk\gtalk.exe.
• At the end of the path add this ” /nomutex”.
• This will look like “c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex.
• Thats All! A new Shortcurt will be created which can be used for login with another user id.

OBSERVATION:

CONCLUSION: If this works, great!! Else, get lost. There is something seriously wrong with your  electronic gig that stores, retrieves, and processes data!!

Dreams, I just love ’em.

I am just about to get all my wishes fulfilled, everything just goes awesome, until the stupid alarm starts wailing. My hand spreads out in the direction of the alarm clock and my trembling fingers linger in the infinity, trying to reach the stupid thing and shut it up, as if everything was involuntary.

The dawn breaks and the sun sends a glint of its golden shine though my window.  I rub my eyes with my knuckles to wipe my sleep off. I blink repeatedly to get the sense of the reality. Through the window I see the leaves swaying past the gentle cold breeze. The chirp of distant birds reach my eardrums. I lay on my cozy bed, calm and still. Its a new day again.

I slowly throw my warm rug aside and rise up a little in an attempt to get up. But when I look back, I am drawn to it. The warmth of my bed holds me back with a promise of comfort and peace. After a second of thinking, I give up. I decide to lay down just a little longer, resting my face to the beckoning arms of my soft pillow.

I feel the world of dreams is far better than the reality. Atleast there, I have the power to decide my fate. A world full of friends and no foes. Everything is so fresh as if the spring never ends. I can marry cleopatra, if I want to, and fly around where ever I wish to. Everything is so perfect.

After a moment of contemplation,I am suddenly reminded of the world of reality. A world where a man spends most of his life hounding his deams and seeking ways to make things perfect. I realize how insignificant I am in this whole world. There is no one here who loves you more than themselves. No one accompanies you through out, not even your shadow!

And my brain sends signals through my neurons, to my hands and legs. My muscles warm up and I stomp off to join the herd, or atleast, trying to keep up with this fast moving world.

“WordPress”, It’s Impressive :)

As my friend says “Change is the most stable thing in the word”, not only I had to change, but my blog too. I have changed my blogsite from blogspot to wordpress. Its simply fantastic. With its user – friendly features, I’m flattered. If you have blog already, don’t worry. This site has cool features to import your blogs and comments from other blog sites. 🙂 Wordpress is handy and creates your new blog within seconds. Most important of all, it has so many cool themes that are simply awesome.
So what are u waiting for?? Didn’t u find an RSS thing just clinging somewhere here?? So here I stomp off.

Google versus The darkened Google

“BLACKLE”, Thats what I am talking about!!! And as I always have this habbit of blabbering about some insignificant ape shit… here it goes!!

Blackle, the new website, claims to be the starting point for eco-conscious web searchers. So whats the catch?? It claims itself to be saving 200,459.427 watt hrs of electicity till now, and still counting. Duh!!

Blackle, a black screen with light coloured text, serves as a front-end to the google and reverses the colour schemes of the search results page. And how does it save power?? For the obvious reason that it simply has a black background. There is a limitation here. Quite a significant limitation. The site may save anything from 5 % to 20 % on an old CRT monitor. But what about the new LCD monitors, which are over 75 % in current market?? On an LCD monitor the rate of power consumption is not related to the colour that is displayed. So it dosen’t really matter whether the site is black or white!!

The 3 biggest disadvantages, holy cow, the site is black, black and black!! How the hell am I supposed to read the stuff? Its very difficult to read on a dark backgound. Come on ape-descendants!! Stop screwing around and get back to work. Who the hell cares about a fraction of power when its not user friendly! Blackle claims that its aim is to make people eco-conscious everytime they use google. I would say, when it is difficult for people to read, they would spend a little more time and the power consumption would be relatively more. What a great solution for energy crisis! Thanks.

Enough of cons.. The site may be I guess.. I suppose… I hope… will be a little helpfull to the eyes that stray all day on google pages. 🙂
